Rapper In Prison From Bragging About COVID Fraud… Transcript

00:00:01 – 00:25:21

All right, Let’s talk about this stupid motherf… Is this dumb person okay? Okay. New business. A Tennessee rapper was bragging about COVID fraud in his music video on YouTube. Lord Jesus. Now he’s in prison. Okay? He was sentenced to six years in prison for this stupidity, and he has to return over $700,000 in stolen unemployment insurance money. Now, I’m going to tell you what you can learn from this as a music artist and give you the lessons in just a second.

00:25:22 – 00:50:21

But this guy, okay. He’s a 33 year old. He bragged about the advantage of the COVID program that’s meant to help people who lost their jobs because of the pandemic. Okay. Here’s what he did. He filed 92 pandemic unemployment assistance claims. God damn. It’s all false. With California’s Employment Development Department, that’s EDD. Now, this was part of his plan to get around $1.2 million in federal funds for his own use for his music career.

00:50:21 – 01:09:12

But before he got caught, he only got about 700,000. All right, Now you want to know how they found out? There’s lesson one. They found out about after he posted a music video on YouTube called EDD, in which he rap lyrics about committing the fraud.

01:10:01 – 01:32:13

He filed applications for relief with false information about applicant’s work history and where they live in the state. Okay. I don’t know how he thought he would get away with this because he did this using third party identities, including people who identities have been stolen. He gave addresses in Beverly Hills, Koreatown, and he pretty much did all he possibly could. This let the EDD put the unemployment benefits onto debit cards that he was able to use.

01:32:14 – 01:59:03

This is ridiculous. And then he used those cards to get cash from ATMs. And this dumb motherf… holding up the stacks of the envelopes from California. He also was holding the damn thing. And you could see the person whose identity was stolen, which was then used in court against. This is Smart Rapper. He don’t watch these videos, I’m saying right now.

01:59:09 – 02:21:07

The video starts with the recording. This is your card has now been activated and is ready to use. Now, how stupid? Then he uses the logo that looks just like the California EDD logo. It just gets dumber and dumber as you learn about it. Well, listen, I think you already know the answer to this because he’s so stupid.

02:21:07 – 02:44:17

But I need to make sure because I didn’t realize people were this stupid. I don’t think that you are. But the lesson you can learn is don’t. This isn’t the first time this happened. Don’t brag about your criminal activity on songs because it can be used against you in court. No, I’m taking it to the grave. I think Jay-Z is trying to get that reversed, but at the same time, like, they still would have got this guy because it doesn’t matter.

02:44:17 – 02:59:07

But either way, just make it up like every other rapper that you listen to who doesn’t do none of that and I’m not saying to like, be fake. But I’m sorry everybody you listen to is fake because if they’re that real, they’re already locked up. Real are really locked up. All right. Because they just can’t help that anger. Depends on the music you listen to it, you know, it’s all about.

02:59:07 – 03:14:22

So if anything. Say it in a different way or say it like you were like, you know, the person that did it. There’s a lot of different ways to do this. Just don’t do it directly. That’s a lesson. You already know this. I just wanted to remind you of how stupid it is to do that.

03:14:23 – 03:29:22
